I asked my mate the other night if he wanted to swap his car with my granada that you can see in my signature picture.. what do you think.. he said yes so i'm swapping next weekend.. the xr2 needs a starter motor on it and the 48 jets taking out and 40's putting in, he has the 40 jets, that can be done and then it needs rolling road tuning. he has decided to have a clear out as he has too many cars. its MOT'd and taxed with all this

It has never been welded, still on original front wings etc.
some battle scars but generally tidy, it was used in the tin tops series and hillclimb stuff aparently he bought it off ebay from a bloke that raced it, he sold it as he packed up doing it ages ago and it was just sat in his unit

 

Personally, I wouldn't think twice about doing that deal and spending a little wedge on the XR to getting it up to a reasonable standard again.

i agree, hence why i'm doing it.. my granada just sits doing nothing, i don't use it really, so i can afford to spend some time on the xr before putting it on the road.. the 48 jets that are in it are for flat out racing so it runs like a bag of crap if ya not at full throttle. once thats sorted an a starter I think it will be fine.. just needed some other opinions on it really..

 

get it swapped,worth more than the granada in the long run.

Give that mk1 xr2 a really good tidy up and it would be worth 3/4 times more than your car Heres my old one, great little cars but sold it for the 3 door

 

yeah i agree with that one. not many granada's in the condition of mine though. but i think the xr2 with its little battle scars looks right cool.. don't think it would like right mint.. wouldn't look raced.

 

i intend to get the buffer on it and clean up the floors inside and the engine bay.. although i would like to get rid of the perspex windows for glass ones but i will need the door quarter windows first.. so who has some glass for it and the quarter windows???

 

Big lazy 24v Granada or small buzzy 1.6 xr2. Xr2 for me, but only just. Am a fan of them both.

 

ebay and the fiesta centre if its still going,i had a white one with a 1700 crossflow and 5speed box,right quick little motor,handled like a go kart.

 

depends on what you want to use it for, it's going to be fairly usless going shopping at tesco's

I'd take the XR2 all day long.

 

i only use mine if i wanna go for a thrash. trouble is, in a 24v granada, before ya know it your doing 130mph.. ya can go for a right thrash in the xr its geared to do about 100 flat out but gets there like fuck

 

hello mate. personal choice would be the fiesta. How much would you want for the perspex windows. are the fronts fixed, or still work on the runners, are the fronts still fitted in the original rubbers. If i get a set of perspex windows I will have a full set of glass. I have gone to my local glass and plastics, said he work me out a price and get back hold of me. been about 6 weeks, think hes forgot

 

take my screen name fella and pm me.. at the moment i'm unsure what to do.. but i would like to put the glass back in.. the fronts are not on the runners.. the door is empty apart from the lock an stuff to save weight.. if ya want them then i will do you a swap. glass for perspex. but i will need the quarter section and quarter glass for both fronts. obviously the front screen isn't perspex. but every other window is.

yeah its genuine mate. i went with him when he bought it. has the hump in the back panel an stuff, and through my work as a repo man I can use sites that other people can't so i know.

happy to see your getting back on your feet after your probs that you posted last year,i would not think twice on this one mate get it swaped and then go see your mate with all the scrappers in his yard and get the interior out of the xr2 that he has or there is a rotton xr2 in boston but i dont know if he will sell it ,or if it is still there but it was last month when i was down there visiting friends
