is it dangerous?!?!
hi all, ive recently fitted a new turbo and actuator on my car, and the car has not been setup yet as its been off the road. planning to put it back on road within next few days.
my question is... standard boost is around 7 psi on an rs yes??
i took the car round the block and it was boosting up to 10 psi and being held there by amal valve due to running standard map at the minute.
will 10 psi damage anything as the fuelling hasnt been changed yet or is it ok as this is where the standard ecu holds it? onlly want to know as ill be geting it setup by end of month and want to know if its ok to drive like this, if not shall i just avoid reaching boost. thanks ppeps

No it wont be ok if the fuelling was set for 7psi!
The ECU does not control the boost, it's set by the actuator preload so just wind the rod out about 2 turns and it should be about right mate until you have it setup.
But best to drive it off boost until then anyway to be extra safe

ill put money on it will be fine, because it will be over fueling loads so the extra 3psi will mean feck all! but like every1 sayin, just take it easy until checked
Yeah thats what I think too as 99% of RST's overfuel from where they have been played with over the years, but what about the ignition timing?! Only takes a twist of the dizzy to be too far advanced and boom your detonating!!
I dont want the guy having a meltdown and swearing "cos some muppet on a forum told me it was ok!" lol
