Insurance company? LOL.

Do you have a screen in it at the moment? Can't you lob a brick at it and claim on your windscreen cover??!!

WOW!

I just logged on to ask the very same question!! I have just been quoted Ł217 by Auto Windscreens inc vat and fitting. Sod that tho surely there are cheaper options? My none heated screen was about Ł50.

Just pay the 60 quid or whatever excess on your insurance if you're fully comp, doesn't affect your no claims or owt! I know when i enquired about one a while back it was certainly alot more than Ł65 so just did it thriugh insurance in the end!!!

Not much use if the screen isnt heated already.

Some insurance firms dont cover heated screens in the small print.

I've been in the windscreen game for 7 years and NEVER seen that. Many have policy limits, for example; Swift Cover policies have a Ł140 limit on them, so anything over that the customer pays, alongside their excess.

But I've never seen an ins company have a clause for heated screens....

The car has no insurance.

I was wanting a new one, as you know most used heated screens have broken filaments.

But a second hand one is an option.

Simon.

Just bought mine and its being fitted on Sunday for Ł155 all in brand new. Mine is green tint but bronze is available unfortunately clear is not.

Supplied by Auto windscreens on 01268 531133. Although they share the same name I do not think they are part of the main group which quoted me Ł217!! Don't know how helpful that will be in scotland but may be worth a punt SAS.

Most second hand ones I have ever had have broken elements and as people still want a premium for them is it worth the hassle of fitting and then finding its toast?
