Default My New Toy

Since selling my last Saph i've not bother to replace it with anything

so while bored at home on weekends i decided to take up my old hobby of RC Flying/RC Cars

so i bought a Schumacher Menace 21 used it for 2 weeks got bored of it (stripped it down cleaned and put it away until spring)

Then as i always wanted to fly Heli's i bought a Twister 3D Storm
http://www.jperkinsdistribution.co.u...Kits+-+Twister

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYGpgJKgrII

crashed that a couple of time so went and bought a
http://www.blademsr.eu/uk_home/uk_home.html

to use in the house and to learn on (it helped loads and now i fly the Twister 3D without crashing it)

Then i thought back to when i was 18 and use to fly Scale Aerobatic Planes

so i asked Santa for a model to get me back into the Aeroplane scene
http://www.chrisfoss.co.uk/Wot-4.htm

mine is fitted with a Irvine .53 with a 11x8 prop and its nice and aerobatic

but i wanted more so went and bought this
http://www.cmpairplane.com/aerobatic...on%2020cc.html

It's fitted with a Titan Zenoah ZG20 (21cc 2-stroke) and is a joy to fly

Some of my friends think i've lost it buying RC Planes and alsorts But for the moment Cars have taken a back seat and i'm defo having a break from the whole car scene (13 yrs i've been messing on with cars)

I can honestly admit i've enjoyed every moment getting back into RC Aeroplane/RC Heli's and i can't wait for the weather to improve

Sorry for the lack of car content, but this is what i'm into right noww

months ago fella i do believe the new owner has now broken the car up and sold it off in bits, shame really as it was a lovely Saph that needed some minor TLC to fix some poorly rear arch

If you've never flown before i wouldn't jump in and buy something like the
marathon u need to start off with a trainer and work your way up
but once u have mastered the basics get something like the Wot4 and start with the more advanced move then work upto to the scale aerobatic planes

what i'd suggest is thet you find your local club and go see where they fly as most clubs will have a member who will offer training
Go down and they will allow you to fly their own plane with a trainer handset

get some training in until you can master the basics, including taking off and landing then look at buying your own trainer plane and just take advice off local club members or your local model shop

I personally prefer Glow over Electric but its personal choice

get a simulator mate, The best is real flight very good, Once you can fly a plane on there you can fly a real one.

The only diffance I have found it cannot simluate gusts well.

Go for any 4 channel trainer mate

Phoenix is also a good simulator for both plane and heli.

You can get sim and transmitter packages for around £130 to £140 and if you get a DX6i transmitter that can be used on your real models later on.

£140 sounds alot to start with but it will give you a good idea if your going to get into it or not without spending £500 (which is very easily done) and if it's not for you then you can sell it on for not much less than you paid.

I also agree about getting a 4 channel heli, eflight Blade mCX or mSR are good starting points. They are easier to fly than a full on collective pitch heli but the contol movements are the same on the transmitter so it will teach you the basics and help you with orientation etc..
