Everything.

Strut tops, (front and rear)
Slam panel,
Arches front and rear under the bodykit
Inner wings (both from the engine bay and the wheelarches),
Battery tray
Fusebox
Inner cills, if you can peel the carpet back
Check the seats are sturdy cos the mounts rot
boot floor and spare wheel well
any rust round the sunroof is very bad news, even bubbling usually means alot of hard work to fix
Tailgate hinges

Engine, check for smoke on idle or when you back off the revs this could be the stem seals gone, or the turbo in trouble.
blue smoke is the rings.
all the usual engine stuff, smooth idle, no excessive smoke, no whiney gears etc.

There really is so much you could write an essay and still miss something!

Too much to list really. There is a buyer's guides on my forum. It's for general public use, but people have to (free) register to view.
Any details on the car? It may be known already. Good luck.

Ideally you need to know how bad the floor welding is. It's ok them saying it's not bad, but that isn't always the case with sellers being honest - not that I'm saying they aren't, you just need to be careful.
The car itself loks ok, the inner arches will need some attention at some point. Pics can be deceiving so you need a real viewing of the car, but it looks honest enough.

Their £3k is around the right mark - but depends on close inspection and full spec. Swap? Depends on what value you put on the BMW as I have no idea.
They may not want a BMW neither.

My advise would be to go for a look if you're interested and go from there.

Depends how far you wanted to go and what budget you have. Can either cut and plate, or remove the wing and cut the whole lot out.
Plate repair prob around £100 a side, full replace I'm not sure as you'd have to repaint the wing joins.
Call a couple of local bodyshops and ask them for a rough guide price, or look in the trader area on here for repairers.

No, cut out the bad bit and weld in a replacement portion (could prob buy a 2nd-hand piece or repair panel) then re-paint the bare metal.
