Default Esc Cos security

I would like an Esc Cos, and have been offered one with a bit of work needed. The only thing thats worrying me is the car will live on the drive way.

We all know these cars arnt subtle. Do any of you guys leave your cars on the drive over night, what do you do stop stop any thefts etc..

Obv. a car cover is a must but what else ?

Why not invest in a wheel clamp? Also try de-locking the doors. Thats what i think i'm going to have to do to mine.

and a disklock steering wheel lock - not pretty - but effective.

a sms pager module that can use a PAYG sim card ,for the alarm is only around 200 sheets now so u know when it goes off.

Matt,

Seriously, you need a garage. I can tell you for sure that Escort Cosworth's still get stolen from driveways no matter how good your security is.

Even when you have a garage, you need to make sure that the it is a secure one. An alarmed garage with strong doors/locks is a MUST !! Also, other precautions are advisable, like making sure that are not followed home so that the fookers know where the car is kept. If you think you are bring followed, then best to drive past your house - judt to make sure.

Maybe we should all be glad that with the multitude of Subaru's/EVO's/Civic Type R's etc...etc out there, our Escort Cosworth's are still extremelly desirable, despite being 9 - 14 year old cars!!

Don't leave it on a drive mate, it'll go.

Have only ever left mine on the drive for one night and had several people walking round the car having a good look within hours. I know this, cos I was sat by the window watching tv.

The car stands out big time and there are loads of thieving scum about, so make sure you rent a garage and fit all the above security.

Not trying to scare you off from buying one, but unfortunately this is the reality. Also make sure you get an anti hijack alarm!

sk your and get a decent tracker
Cover it with a sheet at night as its less obvious to passers by.
