Default Focus 56 plate door card removal

I'm trying (and failing) to fit a new set of speakers to my Focus.

I cant find any screws around the door card or any diagrams online. Can anyone offer any cryptic clues as to how to remove these?

Any help would be gratefully received!

Rich

Here is a guide to remove the front door trim. There might be a guide for the rear cards on focushacks.com. http://www.fileshost.com/download.php?id=4FD4BB891

The bezel for the door handle pulls off, the grab handle trim also pulls off and there are bolts behind this, and I THINK thats all that holds it on, but it's been a while since i've taken one off.

Many thanks for some quick responses.

H3lsing, thanks for the diagram. However the trim looks very different on mine. I'm not sure if i have a different interior package or slightly different model. (i've only owned a Focus for a few weeks)

James, your clues have got me a lot closer worked out the grab straight away. Will have to wait until daylight to have a go at the handle but it sounds like we're talking about the same thing.

Many thanks

I'm guessing you have a mk2 focus then? not sure what 56 plate is (Irish, we use a different system).

Distaster!

So i've finally had time to put your advice into practice. Screws were exactly where you said but was still a puzzle to get the door card off. In the end with a bit of gentle prying the clips popped and i've got the card off.

The bad news for me is that the guys at my local car audio shop seem to have sold me the wrong adaptor for my speakers. There is obviously a lot of confusion between the Mk1 and Mk2 Focus models.

So why am i telling you all this? well I've got to head out to swap the adaptors out so it's time to put it all back together.....but the white plastic adaptors - the ones i had to pry open to get the pannel off. Will not make it back onto the black plastic posts that hold the card flush with the door and therefore won't fit back on

Has anyone successfully managed to get their door card off and back on again ? Is there anything i've missed? Could anyone offer some more advice?

As always. Many thanks in advance!

Rich

It's a bit of a puzzle with me tbh as I've never taking a door card off a mk2 (feb 2005>). Have you had another go at it? maybe there's a screw or plastic clip not turned proper way around, it's usually the reverse proceedure. A pic tells a thousand words as they say.
