a group of 5 guys just turnt up to look at my impreza, had a look around the car. then wanted to test drive the car, so all was good until this point. then he got in the car with one of his mates, aswell as me and my mate. put it in first hit the limiter and let the clutch up. bang the fu@3kin gearbox. what the f@!k is with that?
im well pissed got to get another gearbox and now im getting threats down the phone.
look out if people turn up in a Audi A3 in light blue. apparently for birmingham.
hope this helps anyone that encounters them.

If someone wants to buy a car off me and they want test drive they get one in the front passengers seat with me driving, after they have given me the readies they can drive the car how the fuck they want,
if it was me in this situation I would tell the geezer he owes me money for the gearbox he has just detroyed, but saying that he wouldn't have had the chance to break the car without 1st giving me some pound notes,
sounds to me like he was a fucking test pilot prick

I did read all of your starting post fella and I feel for you but did you not read between the lines,
whenever you sell one of these cars, a car that is sought after to be nicked, cossies, evos, scoobies etc, never have people round your house or the address where the car is kept, meet somewhere, services, petrol station etc, five geezers turn up and you let the one of them drive and damage the car without 1st talking readies insurance etc, should have been a bit more carefull and sensed something was wrong and walked away

what happened to 'you break it you buy it'?
No way they accidentally done it either!
Im not surprised about the people you say they are. in my experience ive only ever had trouble with car sales with funnily enough, CHAVs and asians. Bit stereotypical and im sure theres some asians who dont cause hassle in car sales but sadly theres enough rogue ones to justify the stereotype in my opinion!!
and why do sooo many asian buyers turn up with loads of mates or the whole family? any more than 2 people turn up for a motor and im already worried! Sure if its a family couple and a mechanic friend in dirty overalls then fair enough but a group of young lads will rightly so arouse suspicion.

i no it not good but think your self lucky the gear box went as if it had not i dont think you would now have the car .. have you got there reg. and phone number
Sorry to hear this fella, but it don't make sense so far?
The 5 guys turned up, when did he start trying to rev it to death, was his mate in the back? did he realise you were in the car?
Or was it that they got in and you got in, then they tried to kill it?

surely the police CAN do something, without having a pop, you haven't explained it that well, so if you relayed the same to the police they wont act.
But, if Iam understanding it, they attempted to jump into the car and drive off but you got in before they could - what did they do at that point?
Basically you should be reporting an attempted car jacking, and should have taken a note of their registration.
as has been said, these cars WILL attract dodgy characters, so when selling you need to make sure you ass is covered and that they don't get to drive the car until the deal is done, then they can have a drive once you have seen the insurance paperwork or have their money.
