Default Car of the Decade?

At the moment it seems to be which film, which sporting event, which album etc. was the most important from the closing decade.
So, given our interest in automobiles, which car introduced from 2000 do you think was the most outstanding?

In terms of pushing so many performance and comfort boundaries all at once, I agree with Tiff, its gotta be the Veryon, I know its the obvious choice and so people trying to be different will come up with something else, but I really do think its the most significant car of this decade.

Exactly........it was made because they wanted to prove they could do it.......i think they lost a shed load of cash on each car.

Not on sale yet as far as im aware, and I took this thread to be in the context of production cars rather than prototypes.

alternative fuels are definately the future though, petrol and diesel engines are coming to a close at some point in our lifetime im sure.

Lol

Like I said in my first reply, its nice to be different and say something else other than the obvious choice, but I really do feel that the veryon deserves it in this instance.

Forget the RS, I say a normal focus is car of the decade. There is a focus for everyone, even if you have no ears :P

Ok, so i agree out and out the veyron probably has the crown. How about a "peoples champion"

Answers on a postcard....

I'd go for either the Mitsubishi EVO VII OR The Nissan Skyline GTR.

The EVO was simply stunning when first released, blew me away as an impresionable 17 year old anyways.

and the GTR because i like the boxy shape, i love the 80's fords for that reason but it stands out against the jelly moulded hatchbacks around it. ( i realise its meant to btw )

Agree with that.

The Veyron for me has to take it.

Veyron was the first one that came to mind.

Lots of supercars out there, but in the grand scheme of car of the decade look back at what won the decades before:

1980- 1990 - Peugeot 205 (It was declared 'Car of the Decade' by CAR magazine in 1990)

1990-2000 Subaru WRX

Last week the Telegraph poll gave the Focus car of the decade status.

For me it has to be this, no other car gives me the horn like this thing does;

If I could afford it I would 1 million percent have one over a Veyron! DREAM CAR
