I don't dislike Christmas per se - I dislike all the commercialisation of it all, that it's all about money. Strip back to basics what Christmas actually is and about and I'm fine with it.

This is my 33rd Christmas and I've always loved spending time with my friends and family. This year I couldn't give a flying fuck. I haven't even put a tree up, teh decorations are all in the loft and haven't moved.

Bollocks to it all this year, roll on 2010. 2009 can fuck right off and I hope it falls flat on its face on its way out and gets kicked to death

 

I think the best things for me are not being at work, we're having a bit of a do on Boxing Day, family party, and it'll be nice to see everyone, and tomorrow will just be me and the missus and the dog, so nice and peaceful.

But I just find it hard to get excited about any of it. And I know loads of other people the same.

And I was literally stood for an hour in a queue in Morrisons yesterday just for two packs of red bull, a carton of Grolsh and 18 bread rolls, and I was actually pondering the meaning of life at that point.

 

That's what really gets to me too, people blindly spending a fortune on shite when they really can't spare the cash just coz they feel obliged to.

Xmas aint for me, load of shite, I try to distance myself from it all as much as possible.

All I like at Christmas is giving people things they want, but don't expect. made me Mrs and Mother cry with happiness a year or so ago with the presents I got them, so was a good day

Told my son we're going on Boxing day to get his present as his saving up for it by himself (He traded in his DS to buy a PS3, but is Ł100 short). All his idea and his asked everyone for money towards it. Was awkward today when his cousins were opening 8 presents odd each and he opened 2 and got money. (Kids love opening presents, but he handled it well ). He said if he has money left over his buying Modern Warefare 2 also.

Ive got a him the PS3, Modern Warefare 2 and a few other bits to go with it, so his gonna be one happy boy tomorrow Can't wait to see his face

His Mum told him she will give him Ł10 if he does washing up, etc to earn it so he can buy me a present and I told him to spend it on himself. I don't want anything from him! Ive even told the Mrs to not bother getting me anything, but she can't resist

Christmas is shit, but the one's I care about are happy

 

Im on the fucking rig until jan 14th, so you can shove xmas
