My sister got a new exhaust for her Impreza because it's the style she had been after for ages and to make it louder I took the old system off tonight and I was shocked to find this



I had no idea it was broken, I doubt it would have lasted another 100 miles before it snapped so it was a good job I changed it

Here's the new one fitted





It's funny but the new one is louder than the snapped one

On an Impreza it's pretty hard to tell if the exhaust is blowing or if it's running on 3 cylinders etc I am shocked that we didn't notice it though.

She is well into her cars and it's quite nicely modified I have it at the moment to fit equal length headers, new downpipe, exhaust system, bigger injectors, bigger MAF and a remap because it's running an Apexi power FC She hasn't heard it running since the new exhaust but she is popping over in the morning to collect something so she will hear it then.

 

They always sound like they are misfiring to me lol

I hate the sound of them.Why do they always have really loud exhausts on them.

 

People put loud exhausts on them because they like the burble, I think they are too loud inside with a loud exhaust because they don't have much sound deadening.
