It MUST have a hard drive! It's so much more convenient and you never need use discs then, unless you wanna lend a copy to someone.

I dunno but dont buy a lite-on recorder, its the most useless thing in the world.

If i want to use it it takes about 20seconds from pressing the on until it becomes responsive, then the menu system is as much use as an inflatable dart board

had a few in my time, nothing beats the panasonic we bought a few years ago, not just for recordning, but also ease of editing and labeling and other fetures you'll find usefull when you've actually bought the thing rather than fiddled with it

I've got a Panasonic DMR EZ25. To be honest for the use it gets I might as well have just got a player. Nicely made and easy to use bit of kit though

I've got a Sony one and a Samsung one, fook knows what the model numbers are, but they're both ideal. Record onto Sky+, then copy onto DVD

We've got what was Panasonic's entry leve machine 3 years ago and it does all we could ever want and more.

Just got my old mum a Humax PVR, though and my next machine will have a hard disc in it.

The thing I don't like is having to erase or reformat the DVDs before I can re-use them - good old VCR tapes just needed rewound!
