Any tips for someone who spent nearly an hour doing it today before giving up?
I've been using wadpol metal polish, but its taking forever and I've done about half of one pipe!
I've got the outside of the pipe nicve and shiny but its all the burnt on crap on the inside. I'm thinking maybe oven cleaner to break it up as its only carbon isn't it?
i gave mine a blast out with hot soapy water then 1200 wet n dry paper with hot water with fairy liquid then use some good old auto gly metal polish mate comes up a fookin treat every time bit time consuming mind lol
I tried to do it once, gave up and realised every time you above 5500-6000rpm, it chucks out some that's built up inside the engine so won't take long to build it up again.
Depend's cossie owner's get the smoke "usually" so it's pointless,But the S1 doens't smoke so it doesn't get black so easily So i see people's his point
iv always got my hand up the rear of my car, if its bad use some alloy wheel cleaner to loosen it up but don't leave it on for to long and not to a warm exhaust.
exactly hoooow much spare time do you have in a day ringo?
Well yesterday at work I washed, polished and hoovered my car.
It got a bit muddy last night so this morning at work I washed it again. Then I took all the wheels off, cleaned the arches, painted the calipers, cleaned and polished the wheels.
Tomorrow I think I'll rock up at work whenever the mood takes me, start on the inside of the exhaust pipes, might even do the engine bay. Then after lunch I'll crack on with a 3ft tall stack of DVD's that have been staring at me for the last couple of months.
Lol ffs rich....why can't we all have jobs like that haha!!! As you know i like to bufty from time to time, i normally polish the backbox that you can see and the first few inches inside lol, i just use meguires metal polish or autoglym stuff. Once it's clean it's easy to do when you wash the car....i've always been that sad though so haven't ever had it build up too much but wheelcleaner is a good first step or as said somethin more abrasive with the likes of a brillo pad etc.
Well if any of the Herculies fall out the sky in future... we'll all know it wasn't Richs fault,, as he aint fukkin touched one in months
Lol! I would try and defend myself, but I aint got a leg to stand on
To be fair though, when all the work comes in I do work my arse off and get it done so I got a quiet few days to do some of my own jobs rather than plod along slowly!
