Just looking on ideas on how much id get breaking my car.. fancy something else. I think it would be worth more in bits but not sure?

the engine has only done 5k with reciept.

it was a brand new 200 block, everything in the engine was new, also has valve pockets, headwork, verniers high pres oil pump, 6 long stud kit, 4 layer headgasket. siemens 55 injectors, t34.48 turbo.
Mapped by nms, they said it should be around 400bhp.

Also has all the chrome bits, full set of samcos, konis, mongoose, rebuilt box (although no receipt), b&m, very good leather. all usual stage 3 bits. few powder coated bits underneith, full set of polybushes.

Very good shell.

cant think of anything else atm.

it will be worth more in bits; but as it looks a clean one i would try and sell it for what you want first

breaking cars is a pain in the arse, the good stuff will go quick and you'll be left with stuff nobody really wants

who built the engine?

the number plate probably will be worth a few quid to a 500 owner

dont think 7k is dreaming at all; i've seen some sheds sell for 4-5k so i would advertise it at 7k and see what happens, no harm in trying

advertise it on here would be a good start as well as pistonheads which is free

 

looks nice that but as 220turbo said it is difficult because you are left with a load of shit no one wants.

also youre missing 800 quids worth of comps like so many broken saffs have.

everything is spot on, i would do whatever got me the most money tbh. The shell would still live on anyway. Gonna give it a good think, just wanted a figure i could get for breaking it really. Reckon i would get more than 7 breaking it even if it took a while?

 

im still yet to fully believe these breaking storys. Until i see it with my own eyes i wont believe how much money im told you can get.

Maybe im wrong here (as i am sometimes lol)

but i still have this sneaking suspicion, call me cynical that the only way people make the money that they do out of breaking near standard saffs is to tell insurance companies things they shouldn't.

 

You prices arnt far out

cossies dont break for anywhere near what they once did due to ebay etc

Ive never broke a saff but have an ERST and i still have loads of bits in my garage, have even thrown away some panels now

bought it for 700 though and got 1100 back so not to bad.

 

Dont do it sell it as a complete car.

i broke my series 2 and it paid for my saph its fucking hassle though i gave the last few bits away as they where in the way, its far easier to sell, as above get a figure in your head and put it up for sale, if it doesnt sell then break it
