i have a rotten xr3i mk5 130ps and i have a ford ka with fubar gearbox
i was wondering if there was a way i cam make my xr3i engine fit and run in my ka?

if its a easy job or not?
and what will i need to make it work?
also can i use my mtx75 gearbox??

MT dont fit IB5 can be used.

Trackdesigns do a bolt in mount.

 

there's deffo no way of running a mtx75?

 

Fairly sure the box is too long, so that would mean cutting chassis leg off/out.

If you downgrade to the ib5 box, you only have to change the flywheel/clutch assembly.

p.s make sure if your starter is at the back/front. It may cause your problems.
Where you at? I've a spare ka box, not been used in a few month but was removed from a working car. (unless you wanna sell the ka?)

what about fitting the engine and box into a mk1 fiesta??

 

I'm sure others will tell you better, but your gonna have issues with the mtx box in a small front wheel drive car.
I think on zetecinside.com, he said he had to cut the chassis on a mk1 fiesta for a standard bc box!

For the Ka there's myka.org and fk-oc.com and for the fiesta there is xrtwo.com

I think fitting the zetec into the Ka is pretty straight forward, there's plenty advice/guides to guide you.

Yeah can be done. There's a few threads around but call joey at trackdesigns and he'll give you a run down most likely. Mine's being fitted with an ST170 lump at the moment and I just took the LSD out of the series 2 box and stuck it in the Ka IB5. Apparently it's not that bad a box either
