Just wondering how many miles I should do after fitting new rings before I can put my foot down.

I thought about 1000 miles but not 100% sure.

well why not be safe and so the full 1000miles! cant hurt!

but what about race engines etc? they have a life span of 1000miles sometimes how do they run them in or is that the reason the need a rebuild after 1000miles

 

Although you do need to give it full throttle without full revs, as it'll help to pressurise the rings, forcing them into the bores to make a good seal...

 

Thats correct. The first 200 miles is the most vital, do hard runs, but don't rev it too high. And use only mineral oil for the first 1500 miles. Change your oil and filter after 20 miles, it's gonna be alot for metal in your oil.

Who in leeds do you use for rolling road setup, i only live 5 mins from leeds

 

For the rollling road the only place I know of in Leeds is Well Lane Turbos.
