Default Why you have certain dreams, or why you remember them?

Had two REALLY mad (in a good way ) dreams last night, really vivid and can remember em perfectly, but cant think WHY i had em (Wasnt on mind and dont usualy dream like that), or why i remember em (I never remember dreaming), anyone know anytihng about how the mind works?

2 main people involved wasnt on my mind and never are anymore really, tho on monday when we was out we saw one of em and we talked bout the other, but totaly wasnt on mind since.
Infact when i went to sleep had 2 other totally different people on my mind

So anyone know why you dream about stuff, esp when its stuff you was NOT thinking about before you went to sleep? And why you remember dreams?

There are three fundamental psychological questions regarding dreams:

Dream Formation
Where do our dreams come from?
Dream Function
What purpose - if any - do they serve?
Dream Interpretation
What meaning - if any - do they have?
Different schools of psychology have different aswers to these questions. To further complicate matters the first two questions overlap with the physical neurosciences whilst the latter two questions are of great interest to philosophers. Attempting a synergy of neuroscience, psychoanalysis and philosophy is a major task.
Any school of psychology or analysis must of necessity consider the question of dreams, however some treat them as more significant than others - for example many mainstream academics do not accept that dreams have any coherent meaning.

So, in short it prob means feck-all
