High idle speed.
A friend of mine has a small turbo escort cossie that idles @ 2000 rpm when hot or cold, any ideas what might be causing it to do this.He has replaced the idle speed control valve but this hasn't made any difference. He thinks it might be the ECU.Any advice would be appreciated.Cheers.
Chris.
Chris.
Check air flow meter connections.
Unplug ECU for 1/2 hour and see if that helps.
If not you can plug in a diagnostic to see, but if not, go to Ford's but wait with the car and watch.
You have been warned.

Cheers for the advice, i'll get him to unplug it for 1/2 hour and see if that works. He wants to try swapping my ECU with his to see if that fixes it.
Ford want £500 for a new ECU so he'll be hoping its not that.

I think I have spare ecu, but it must have the same tare code (4 letter code) or it will have to be reset- only at Fords
I bought one off of them before and it was more like £700
As I say let me know, i have spare one.
