S'ok, not taking it personally
If mine was rotten and I wanted to reshell it I'd take a Bonus shell if it was clean, wouldn't care about the log book
Graceland from those pics I can't see any bits that are pre 90 spec?

Shame he's fucked his up, looks like its been owned by a chav with the blacked out windows etc......
For the record, mine is a 1992 J-Reg, with RS Turbo on the Logbook!!
IMO even if it is an XR3i, its still something different as its a J-Reg MK4.
Cheers,
Grant

Just to point out as on many other threads, although people see them as rare, there are j platers and even a k plate mk4? doesn't mean they are rare, just late registrations (probably sat in a field for a year and didnt sell at first)

well said m8,fook all special. 6.5 k don't make me laugh.
Just received a reply as to was it built from a 3i shell or a new Ford one-
Yet they still advertised it as an RS.
Would be an easy one to walk away from leaving -ve feedback.
long story bout car...i bought it as xr3i got it home stripped it then converted it

I have no problem with it, just that they are advertising it as an RS in the heading. Slightly missleading as they say one similar made Ł6.5k.
Granted they mention quickly that its registered as a 3i, nor did they hide it when I asked directly either.
If it's not too far away I might even have a bid as it shows no reserve now.

Dunno if it still is but it used to be done on a points scoring system.
Engine counted for so many points, suspension added some more etc etc. Not all parts needed to be new.
Crack the limit with the points and you win yoursself a brand new reg plate

The one we built from new was in 1996 and was an escort cosworth (rallycar).
It had a brand new motorsport shell (so many points), new engine (more points) all the running gear, gearbox, glass etc was second hand (no points). The interior had all new seats, belts, extinguishers etc (more points as we had receipts to prove new). The lady from the DVLC came out to inspect was here for 20 mins, asked to go on a test drive (passenger) and it was issued with a brand new numberplate relating to that year. Non of the main scoring point items came direct from Ford.
Its still around today
As I said that was a while ago things may have changed now ??
