Default what do people expect when you sell a car as spares or repair?

I put the XR3i on ebay for £450, has a snapped cambelt, and paint was shit, sold it as spares or repair.
The car has done 36k from new, and has had 1 previous owner. well it was only on ebay for about 9 hours
best offer for £300, is what i wanted for it, just as i cant be arsed to sort it. The car was a 1988 xr3i in auto with pas, recaros, rst kit, rst alloys, new exhaust, alternator and belt and pads and shoes. The shell is SOLID.
Bloked comes for it, and my brother deals with it. well read my other topic.lol

And he could not find the V5. but had the mot and some papers, the bloke tried knocking him down, he said no way, its worth more than that for the interior and wheels.
bloke looks round it and is happy, and my brother promised to post the log book. and i had put a 90spec spoiler in the boot, spare set of door cards. and lots of new clips fronm ford as well as a few other bits and bobs.
In my opinion he got a steal!!!

Anyway my brother got the phone call after an hour, "the bloke i bought it for dont want it, i am bringing it back tomorrow for my money"
he recons its been welded and loads, the paints shit of other shit.

I know it aint been welded. And the guy was told its not being taken back.

What the f**k do you expect for £300?

if he's come, viewed it , paid and taken it away, then I would be telling him to stick the car up his arse and not negotiate at all!

the only thing that is "modded" in the car is modified seat brackets as it was owned by a disabled woman and it had differant mountings for the front of the seats to raise the front end. anyway, either way i cant see how you can moan at a £300 car. tbh wish my brother never sold it to him

tell him to fuck off.

I have had a similar issue with a E30 diff I sold. I drove the car it was on for about 15 miles the evening the car was stripped no whines or anything and I had the car upto 70mph on the M4. bloke came a few days after and bought the diff. then a few days after that I stat getting nasty messages and voicemails saying the diff is fucked - the guy who bought it had not fitted to the car but decided to change the oil, seals and bearings and put it into the car then once he has fitted it it was whining from the go he says.

I told him to go do one as its obviously happened when he worked on it.

If he turns up at your house be all polite and tell him to go do one then if he doesnt then bring out the bats.

the PAS is shit on it mate, like on a old yank car, its too light, you have absolutly no feel for the road with it. that was the first thing that was going to come off when i was concidering dropping a turbo lump in it. oh and the auto box too.
