Default Sandblasting inlet manifold? any good or harm?

Hi.
My planning is to let my inlet manifold and plenum we sandblasted, and than respray it in silver.

Can someone tell me if sandblasting the manifold/plenum can do any harm, as in performance, flaws or whatever?

Thanks.

make sure there are no 'bits' left after the blasting as i know a few people who messed engines this way

tbh , you shouldnt need to have it shot blasted just cleaned and painted??

My plan was to get it sandblasted, like I did the exhaust manifold, which gives a nice result. But as I hear now that's maybe not a good idea.

Cleaning and painting could be a solution, only I don't know what to use to clean it and get a nice result, because there's are spots on it (= the plenum) which I think I can't clean.

Any advice on how to clean it?

Spilt it mate, get it bead blasted, clean every last bit of bead from it then rebuild with a new gaskett.

Did mine before painting it properly

Okay, I allready splitted the inlet into:
elbow, throttlehouse, manifold, plenum, fuelrail, injectors (greased), and fuel regulator

I'm planning to have the elbow sandblasted.
And I'm polishing the fuel rail.

So what I'll do to the inlet manifold and plenum is "bead" blast it.
After that I'll clean up the manifold/plenum before painting and re-assembling.

Thanks for the advice m8.

Sometimes I almost loose motivation in all the things I want to do to the engine parts, it's the first time ever I'm in a "rebuild-situation". But never the less, there's time enough, since I'm saving money for the new pistons and a Alcon 6-paddle

Do you have any pics of your inletmanifold (or parts of it), at the end-result?

not yet, first pistons, alcon 6-paddle, gaskets, ARP stuff and some other accessoires, then easily drive-in the engine. Do some rust threatment. rearbeam )-;

And in a one and a half year the new turbo, intercooler, injectors and probably bigger brakes
It's too bad the human body needs food, would have saved ya lot's of money

Looking good, although I'm going for silver/metalcolor

Thanks for the advice again.

Hi Rich,
can you tell me what you've done to the 3 plastic hose-attach-points on the outside of the plenum, when you blasted your plenum. I can't seem to get them of/out.
