seeing as ford never made a 2wd engine on a 200 block then it isnt a geniune new ford engine!! what makes that worth any more than a very nice build with new block,a very good crank,head etc??? danny

 

That was my thoughts too.

My other thought was if it is genuine:
"20 year old stem seals will mean it needs a partial rebuild before using it"

 

Its stamped as a YLB with L standing for long, it s a mix and match exchange engine basically, there are a few around like this. Chap in the resto section with a 3dr owns it.

 

alot of blocks and heads were interchanged at factory i'm led to believe.

e.g. you can find early 4x4 engines with 205 blocks from factory.

having said that, i dont agree with the chap saying 200 blocks are £1800 when you can get them for £950 from Mike at R&B motosport.
