welding?
anybody had any welding done to the underneath of their car? i am in the process of cleaning the underneath and i am ashamed to say that i have found some vey bad holes along the sills!!! i am gutted!! i have never sealed the bottom and i have had it for 10 years so totally devastated!!
Mig welded my 3 door with %100 argon and it came out very nice. The two seat mounts had rotted through. Sprayed some gooey undercoat over the bare metal and that was it. Don't mig weld on the body with flux core. It looks like shite and splatters all over you.
Unless you are a good fabricator/welder, leave this to someone who knows what they are doing.
So yes, get it fixed. Pay right money for the right job.

yeah cheers mate! i will get someone to do it as i am no welder and will probably set it on fire! lol. suppose once its done and done good it will just need preserving insted of neglect like have done!
I've noticed that undecoating is nota big deal over there. All our cars have a good 1/4 inch of hard tar underneath. My saff is in dire need of some lovin' on her belly but my Merkur 3 door is rock solid underneath (minus the seat mounts from rubbing).
I'd encourage anyone over there to take a/the bodykit off and have a look. AND get under the car and poke about.
