Default new job!! - business owners, take a look...

just moved back upto stoke on trent and after less than a week of job hunting i started my new job yesterday! working for a company specialising in getting shit hot mobile deals for businesses. its free to get a quote drawn up and can offer cash back (ammount depends on the contract obviously) as an incentive to take out the new contract. if anyones interested, give me a bell, would be nice to talk to people i 'know' before calling total strangers! plus i should be able to get some good deals. pm me if anyone wants a word.

never done this before but getting on well, finding it quite interesting!

some resession, i got offered 3 jobs inside a week, with a 2nd interview i would probably have got aswell which i didnt go too. and people say its hard to get jobs?!....

So your the annoyiong bloke that keeps phoning me up and asking to speak to "the person that deals with mobile phones"
(incidentally, we dont use company mobiles at my work)

Fair play to you - there is work out there; its just some people are too proud or lazy to work

I hate you, I have already recieved 2 phone calls today explaining how they can save me money on my business mobile!

What they don't realise is I no longer really use a business mobile as I encourage everything to go through my landline.

I've told them time and time again to stop ringing me, I even had somebody ring me up offering to 'sell me a website'.

How much have you earnt so far?

Getting given 50 comission only jobs isnt much good if you then dont earn the commission of course

Fingers crossed it works out for you but personally I would be wary of a job like that.

what do you do? i think the point is if you have a mobile of any kind, ie a personal one, then theyre trying to get you to go through your business as it might be cheaper and you can claim it back...

chip i know what you mean, but fuck it, ive got better chance of earning money than sat doing FA at home...its only my second day and we're gonna get on the phones later today. we get to choose which sectors and which specific businesses we want to target too, its not just a case of being given a list of companies to call and getting on with it. i was very sceptical to begin with but now ive been here a day and 1/2 and heard how its all being done im a bit happier. we'll see though, i just thought fuck it, worth trying, even if i do it for a couple of months and decide its not for me, its valuable sales experience that i didnt have before...

I make websites etc...

Reason I no longer wish to use a business mobile is purely so I can improve my social and personal life abit. When I was using a business mobile for some reason people thought I was available 24 hours a day 7 days a week, I don't seem to get many calls via my landline number on weekends as people understand people don't work weekends. While I understand it may be in my interests to pick up every call I need to balance it out. Not having a 'business mobile' helps me along with seperating life out. Just a personal choice on my behalf.

Plus it's another expense I could do without.

Good luck with it anyway but don't ring me you cunt!

fair one mate, when i was working as a tiler, i got sooo many calls from prople, i think its justa fact of life when youre self employed! i wont be ringing you anyway. ive decided to target people i think will be reasonably down to earth, generally not have many receptionists to get round, and have several phones. so im going security firms, breakdown/recovery, vehicle clampers and towing, and removals firms.

I'm no bigshot pal, I work from home, I don't have a receptionist and I answer all my own calls. But still, don't ring me! lol

Depends on mix of skills and experience you have as well as appearance and attitude. As im sure you noticed a lot of people up here dont want work and theres a lot of people with low skills and a lot of lazy shits too, but if you got the right balance of skills and a bit of a way with words then your made!! eg the car place i went to today has been looking for good sprayers for months and he just cant find it. So you are in demand if youve got the right skills balance.

Coincidentally ive been offered another job today at another car parts place. He wants full time, i want part time so its time to negotiate tomorrow. He wants full time to speed up training where as i cant do full time hours at uni. Similar to you i got it no problems and it wasnt even a job id applied for, just walked in buying parts!!!

its easy to get jobs based on commision. getting folk to sign up to anything during a recession will be your hard part.especially in this internet age when people can cut out the middle man and source their own deals in minutes.
better trying than doing fuck all though.

at the last count, our business tarrif gave us 1200 minutes free a month any network etc @ £8 a month that we are locked into for 2 years

but we have an average bill of around £32,000 last year for the 11 phones we had at our depot alone, let along the 2,000+ other phones and sim cards etc we use, so you can call my it guy in charge of phones if you remember to pm me in about 14 months time to offer a better deal, if you can

trust me mate this job idea is bad, i very much doubt you will make a decent living out of this, theres loads of jobs in stoke, it would be better to get something with a guaranteed income and security, even if its crap wages(which stoke is) at least you know how much your gonna get to pay your bills

Least hes going out and trying. Stop slating it! Most people thing their "to good" for such jobs. Bullshit get out and try whats to lose?

Not my cuppa tea but if i was out of work maybe i would try it rather than sit home scratch my arse claiming dole while a job i would prefer would materialise!

Hope it goes well mate. WE got our works phones with Orange. God knows how much etc but there 100's of phone about as all in Premierfoods! lol
