Am i just unlucky but everytime i have a tyre(s) fitted i get the car back caked in grease and black shit that never seems to come off the rim

Just spent 30minutes cleaning 3 wheels, the sponge is black and the rims have gone from smooth to sticky

I suppose you cant change them without touching the face but still a ball ache

 

what are they using to fit your tyres? When i get mine fitted they use a white/cream tyre soap and once the tyre is on, they clean it off (well try too)

 

yeah i saw some white stuff but not much.

The rest was just black greasy stuff on the rim

 

Never had any problems with the black greasy stuff on mine, and i dread to think how many sets of tires i have been through!

 

Yeah that white stuff can be a bugger to get off the rim and the tyre, pisses me off when they make a mess with it. It's just inexperienced operators, someone who knows their stuff will do it a lot tidier.

 

CV boot grease? When a boot split on one of my old wheels, it caked the inside of the wheel, was a pain in the hoop to get it all off!

I can't think where else black sticky grease would come from!
