What actually happened? I know there was someone on here that bragged about it, But has anyone got a news link?

I don't know how this country can justify 18 years for an armed robber, But only a year or so for a murderer, or a rapist.

Because if you're earning a few quid and living like the cunts in whitehall do they don't like it and big porridge is dished out

if you're a nonce, kill people for random no reason, or sex offender you get fuck all,

all wrong imo

It wasnt just a penalty for robbery.

It also included Kidnap of an adult, kidnap of a child, false imprisonment, impersonating a police officer, weapons offences, and of course was also harsh due to the amount of money involved.

I agree it seems disproportionately high compared to the penalty for rape and murder etc though, so im not saying its the right decision but it wasnt "just" handed out for "robbery"

that fact that 53million went missing has something to do with the sentence!!
He is lucky he pleaded guilty the ones that didn't were found guilty and got life lol
but it is with a minimum term tho

Compared to sentancing for murder etc yes. BUT i think the sentance is right for what they did. its other sentancing like for murdering etc that needs increasing drastically.

I thought the title said

'the cage fighter and one armed robber'

Can't do the time, don't do the crime as i was always told.

It seems to vary from the judge to judge.

I know some one who attempted to kill some one and got 10 years. Last week an alleged drug dealer near hear is expecting 18 years

an 18 yr sentence is less than youd get for any murder charge!!!on a straight 18yrs if that is what he got??he will be out in 9..when convicted for murder you get a mandatory life sentence with a recomended term say 12yrs,that means you will serve 12yrs before your even considered for parole1!99% of the time you will do considerably more time than the recomended amount..cheers danny

The Police have only recovered found £21m of the £53m stolen!!
There is £32 million pounds still unaccounted for!!!
Sure they (the robbers) will have blown some of it, and paid people off along the way, but someone somewhere is still sitting on shit loads of other peoples money!

Actually, maybe that influenced the quite respectable sentence received.... I mean its quite possible this guy has got millions of £££'s stashed away somewhere still. Would be a shame for him to get 5 years and then live like a fucking king for the next 50!!
