long story short a very good mate has all ways been into top speed runs and after a month or too off looking at his options he finally gave a tuner the nod to start a engine with the aim off the 200mph barrier maybe a bit more .

very exciting times and i will be doin a resto thread end off november once things are well under way for him and he hoping to have it all done for this time next year

right bit off aupdate the engine has been on the dyno and results are 976BHP and 725lbft i just had the phone call as he has been there today for the results and just to let you know it not a uk tuner this engine has been in development for some time i will find out more tuesday when he is back in the uk and hopefully get some graphs up for you all he is well pleased with the results today.

now before anyone says it all horseshit he is planning on having it put on a engine dyno here in the uk with a view to runnin the car next year as the car needs getting upto spec

i don't know the costs involved or even the tuner he not tell me!

i do now it's a german based tuner

i only spoke briefly with him today but will no more on tuesday and post graphs if he allows it i belive all will be revealed once car is complete!

no idea mate i suggested 3 companys in this country but he looked all over europe he now talking off shipping car over there for the install off engine the bloke has tooo much money i have no idea why he bein so secretive but it just how he is!

 

there are a few in norway and sweeden with a reputed 1000+ hp

Because he's spent 4 years getting to a lower power figure to raise (his) the record and now 'potentially' he could be trumped

It could all be cobblers tho as we've heard these kind of claims before, but its got to be good foe the 'scene' if theres more peeps pushing the boundaries

 

just got a text back from him deffo no nos and was on race fuel i also know this engine is purely been built for topspeed so take from that what you will as i imagine it would be wank on the road!

 

i doubt he will beat rod as he not use nos and i belive rod will have 1000+with nos but would be cool to see them run together next yaer but i belive rod is retireing this tear from topspeed?

When will this car be ready for a showdown. I have a fairly small window certainly by march 2011 i will be out of here as i turn 65 in September & will run once more between now & then.
The Power figures quoted are perfectly possible if all you want is Power.
I can & will match him for Power but maybe 800ft-lb + from low down will still give mine the edge. 1.5 miles is not a Topspeed run but an accleration run.
Will i get beat, will it ever happen, lots for my knockers to chew at. Please dont under estimate a short assed old fart, weve been there & got several tee-shirts have held that record for 6 years now.
If it happens it will be very special .
