Default Garage Refit project

this is part of the back garden, decided to pinch a little grass space and extend the garage, took 3 weeks to do with me and my dad. it came in under budget with planning permission etc. in total cost just under £3k. couldnt extend any further due to drain, rodding point in garden. was 5.7m x 2.7m extended 5.7m x 4.6m (18.7ft x 15.1ft) the house is on the right side looking at the forward view of garage.

I would be very pleased with what you have for £3000. I wonder what a builder would have charged for the whole job.

Looks like a properly useful extra amount of space, can be a right pain working in a single width garage, those extra few feet should make all the difference

a more useable size. im sure you could have made it larger and had the rodding eye in the garage floor.

you can actually get 2 small sized cars in it, reversed in at a angle but wasnt built for that reason. door is 7'3" high so i can get my van in it also. was told that they need 24hr access to the rodding point(says on the deeds) got about 1.3m either side of car,van now when parked in it. The only part i didnt do was lay the blocks, took day and half for that and was £200

Planning consent : £150
roof trusses and tiles, dry verge tyvec etc : £900
concrete for founds and floor : £200
Blocks : £250
Door gliderol fully automatic : £600
fascia : £80
Lintel and 9x4 I beam : £40
electrics lights and consumer : £100
Dashing : £320
cement etc : £100
Front trench drains : £50
Blocks layed : £200
back door (old one from house)

total : £2990
