Beckham's past it mate, he might always put the effort in but you can't expect him to start regularly in big games over the likes of SWP, Lennon, Milner, Walcott, Young etc who play week in week out in the best league in the world.

Good to have in the squad though in case we need a set piece delivery late on but he starts doing those stupid diagonal long balls all the time when the simple pass is on, then everyone else starts doing it. Time to do a Holland and go with some of the next batch.

heskey is useless, defoe has scored more goals in 15 months than heskey has in 10 years.

 

Yep. Understand why Capello plays him as he benefits Rooney better than Defoe would winning headers, holding the ball and the like but that Carlton Cole looks like he can cause havoc like that and actually finish as well.

Nice we are through with games to spare but not good for N.Ireland, Scotland etc that they won't be there.
