just go on the land registry website, tap in the postcode or find the location on their map, pay a couple of quid and it tells you there and then whose name is on the land title deeds
If its just a bit of land you'll need to send a plan (based on OS maps) with the bit you need highlighted, clearly edged in red, to your local LR office. Its called a SIM (search of index map) and its £5, though this is refundable if its not registered. HTH's
