Does anyone know how to search (for free) to find the owner/titles deeds to a piece of land. Its an old quarry.

 

i dont think you can search but the council can on your behalf i believe (or they used to be able too)

 

just go on the land registry website, tap in the postcode or find the location on their map, pay a couple of quid and it tells you there and then whose name is on the land title deeds

I phoned the council earlier they said that website too. So thats my next port of call. Cheers guys

 

If its just a bit of land you'll need to send a plan (based on OS maps) with the bit you need highlighted, clearly edged in red, to your local LR office. Its called a SIM (search of index map) and its £5, though this is refundable if its not registered. HTH's
