Default mechanic question

my wifes avensis 2.0 d4d is jumpin out of fifth gear since a flywheel and clutch change.boy who changed it has gone to oz so dont see him fixin it.

any ideas, remembered that the linkage on the fwd escorts needed a tool to aligh it or you could get right gears so wonder if this is similar.

box has got a little noisy since the job asell.

ideas......

Pretty sure that it is a cable linkage on these - Might be worth dropping it in at Toyota for them to re-align/tension the selector cables

Sounds like there's little/no oil in it.
5th is first to go as it's on the end.

lets hope he put the oil in at the end of the change

if the box is noisy it sounds like it, but to be honest if there was no oil at all it's make a right racket, check it's level and hope for the best could be the linkage but i'd of thought if your able to get into 5th gear it should stay there but i could be wrong

Is it the mk 1 shape or the mk2.The mk1 gearboxes were shite the bearings used to go all the time and they would score the gearbox casing and fook it.
