Anti Virus?????
Tried the AVG Free last month and it's making the pc run slow as, what other ones do people use?
Is ther another AVG which i can use? Also what else do people use?

Look for Kaspersky, which is pretty good. If your work uses Sophos, their support contract actually allows you to use the 'standalone' version on your home PC. IMO, Sophos is the danglies - it doesn't cripple the machine, but still manages to do a pretty decent job of it.
Avoid McAfee like the plague - it couldn't detect a cold, and will cripple your machine while it's busy being crap. Symantec's AV is very good at detection, but in my experience, like McAfee it suffers from being bloated, and cripples the machine.

AVG is not as good as it used to be, hence the reason you said its shit 
You need Avast, i dont even know its installed, and its caught viruses for me in the past and saved me downloading infected files, auto updates aswell so you dont need to fanny about with it, just leave it.

Avira is the best free AV you can get http://www.avira.com/en/download/index.html It has a better detection rate than most paid for anti virus software.
