Default K&N or Pipercross?

i got a standard mk1 focus 1.8 zetec n cant decide what will be best for the car. was thinkin K&N apollo or Typhoon but need an HONEST opinion (i.e. not a salesman telling me to buy the most expensive).

any1 wana help?

To be totally honest you wont notice any difference between the two, and i'd bet you wont notice any performance improvements over standard either. If its just noise you're after then go for it.

I had an ST170 airbox, ST170 snorkel, K&N panel filter & a Focus 2.0 auto air deflector on my Mk1 1.8 Focus.

I did notice better pick up under hard acceleration and a louder induction noise. May have added 2 or 3bhp if lucky but it did feel better than standard.
