Range Rover P38 Vogue
Righto, some may remember me selling my MG ZS a couple of months back. My reason for sale was to buy this rather fine specimen of a P38 Vogue.
Anyway, she only get used for the commute, and to be honest whilst she is not worth a huge some of money, I want something cheaper. I know, why sell the MG in the first place
.
So, onto the car if I still have your interest. IMHO the best colour combo, oxford blue and cream leather. She has clicked to 115,000 miles, being the big lazy 4.6 this is not much of an issue. She polishes up nicely for an old girl, although there a couple of age related marks and the bonnet is a bit chippy (lets be fair, with aerodynamics of a house brick there will be). MOT until Feb and I have just taxed it for 6 months.
Being a 2000 model is the best I feel as it gets the later type THOR engine (supposedly no overheating issues), but will not get stung on the 'new' road tax bracket.
Now, I know that folks on this site will say STAY AWAY from P38's as they are nothing but trouble, but this one has a good history, so read on McDuff.
I looked a looooong time before I decided on this one, she has 11 service stamps, and is HPI clear.
The deal clincher for me was that in Sept/Oct last year the previous owner spent just short of £3000 on her at a main dealers. She was checked over and had new suspension air bags (so she goes up and down as she should and rides much better than spring conversions), brakes/discs,hubs and springs. Basically, whatever needed doing was done (as I would have felt on seeing the bill
.
When I went to buy her the aircon was blowing warm, I tried to get a few quid of the price but the seller insisted on booking the car back into the main dealers
. So, in June she had a new air con condenser and the dreaded O rings replaced ( for the princely sum of £703).
I recently replaced the transfer motor and transfer ECU as well.
So, as you have read, the usual suspects have been sorted.
Here are some pics

Price wise, well, there is a huge variation on the P38. I would say that this one is a good one and has the bills/history to back this up so for a P38 she won't be as cheap as chips. I want £4500 for her.
Cheers
