as above is there any differences in header tanks for 87 spec and 90 spec as im after the 87 spec cheers

Yes mate there is. The inner wing shape is different.

90 spec header tanks are much deeper. If you fit a 90 spec header tank to a pre 90 spec car, it will sit too high.
