Check for air leaks along all pipes and around the metering unit first...

as said check for air leaks and if it is mfi setup an airleak on mfi is a nightmare
but i would check the co2 as your new engine is going tobe fresh and breath different to the old one so could be co2 related
i would start by getting someone to set the car up, if you have a co2 tester (halfords do one about Ł75 ) see what the car is as it idles then take it from there at a guess i would say to high only coz i have been there
could be worth a try if you know its all piped up properly and all electrical connections are tight and clean

Does it idle properly at around 800-1000 rpm? Then die on accelerator, the mfi setup works on crankcase pressure, if anything like the oil filler cap, dipstick is out it wont run properly. Check inside the fuel distributor that the flap on the air intake is opening properly and also check all connections. I would also advise a full set up with fueling, it makes hell of difference.

If it is an airleak then it will not idle! If it dies when you press the throttle then it's something else, probably not getting enough fuel to compensate for the big lung full of air it takes when you open the throttle.

as karlos said, an air leak would cause the car to stall all the time.
i think it will be something to do with the metering head, either fuelling as stated or "flap" ceasing, EMFPA etc.
