on a few websites it says o.e cr is 8.3.1.true??

8.2:1 or thereabouts....i doubt if there's many rs turbo's that are exactly that though as when you get the head skimmed the c/r will alter slightly depending on how much has had to be skimmed off.

yea i was just checking cuz was thinking about accralites and keeping the 8.1cr and not getting them machined down to 7.5.1

No they're 7.8:1 out the box (at least mine were) and i didn't want a low comp engine anyway so left them untouched. I wanted higher c/r if anythin.

ah rite cuz on burton power it says there 8.1 which is what i wanted

order them then dummy build the engine and check your deck height then we can work out a proper cr for you and if needed have head skimmed to get you back into the 8's if they turn out to be to low, my accralites have had .6mm taken of them to get my desired cr but thats been done so i can have 2 bar+ on the t34 to start with

Yeah i thought they were gonna be 8.1 c/r but that's what it said on the box. As it was we worked out the c/r during the build and my head had been skimmed a bit anyway so wasn't too much of an issue. I'm also looking to run 2bar boost but not goin too low on the c/r.

ive had upto 2 bar on my zetec on 8-8-1 cr.

i would only be running 23psi max through the t25bb i want,but seeing as i dont want to run loads of boost i want to stay as high comp as i can.thanks for the comments guys,just wanted to prepare a plan of mods etc
