normally you run it under 3500rpm for 500 miles then either take it back to the company that built it or service it yourself, but im no expert so i would probily comfirm it with one of the engineers on here

I'd run it on shite mineral oil for 1000miles normal driving (fairly low revs) then get it setup!

Did you get a new cam? if so, did you run that in as soon as you started the car up? I.e. 3000rpm for 15mins?

no worries m8, you prob all ready know this but always let ya turbo warm up and warm down, and prime the oil feed for the turbo if not already done

Warm it up, drive the PISS out of it. Broke in all my bike motors hard and I always ruled the dyno days.

I took it out of the crate. Assembled it, warm it up and then beat the living tar out of it.

ZERO reservations doing the same to a car motor.

a nice thick mineral 20w50 or something needs to be thick to get everywhere and reduce the wear for a bit, no good for all out power as it's too thick to flow properly.

hi
i do on a fresh engine with no miles
mineral oil and new filter, change filter only after about 50 miles then change filter and oil at around 200 miles keeping to mineral oil then at around 500 miles do filter and oil but swop to a good full syn oil 10/60 15/50
i keep to below 3k revs first 500 then 4k for the next 500 then normaly driving from then on but no raging and below 5k but keep gears low and revs within its mile range if you follow( dont exceed rev stated for miles done so far)
if it has not been setup from zero miles i suggest you get it setup for running in as you dont want it over fueling and getting bore wash which is wear it gets to much fuel and washes the oil away from the bores as it makes the bedding in process delayed
and keep an eye on the sparkplugs colour as this will tell you how the engine is running but at first they might seem oiley but this is sumtimes seen when first running in just clean them and back in

Everyone will tell you something different mate. Ask the person who built it what they usually do?
I ran mine on 20w50 mineral oil for 1000miles then done an oil change and had it setup up on the rollers, Kept the revs relativley low for that 1000miles aswell

after a couple of 100 miles when running in ive always let the car come on boost slightly then change gear.so the engine gets used to it and it dont shit its pants when it comes on boost after a 1000 miles.
but different people always do it different ways.just dont go redling it straight away lol

some say rag them straight away, but change oil frequently.
some say take it easy for 500miles, other say it's not the revs it's the load applied to the engine.
basically i just stick mineral oil in of a decentish brand and drive it with minimal load on the engine, i.e. don't rev the hell out of it, but don't put it in too high a gear either.
not killed one yet that way. change oil after first 50-100miles and then at 300 miles, again at 500 miles and again at 1000 miles. good oil after the first instalment.

its the finish in the bores that dictates what you do
