ive been to wembley this weekend as my town reached(and won) the rugby league challenge cup-had a really good time-superb atmosphere and the stadium is awesome!
myself and the mrs had booked a hotel to stay over on saturday-the ibis hotel, right next to the stadium.
it was £120 for the night-well,its only one night..........but on the hotel room doors was the daily tarrif-its only £60 a night on non-event days, but doubles for an event day!
we parked on a car park round the corner-event parking £30-we went back this morning to collect the car-daily rate is now £10!!!
i half expected the £4 per pint so no big deal and the food was expensive, but ok.
just surprised that the prices double on the day of an event at wembley?
but it was an awesome experience,as was watching the team come back through the town today with the cup.
im very tired now though!

jay i could have sorted parking out for ya as i work opposite the stadium, as for a beer " more spice" is a returant opp the stadium that also is a bar that we have a few beers in afterwork,,, if you was gonna have a drink after the game then theres a pumb called the torch up the road with a carpark that let us leave our cars there till the next day ( even a few days once for me as i couldnt be botherd to get the train)
hotels are a rip off but you would have been better off going out the way and getting a cab or, heaven forbid a train or bus
either way im sure it was a good day

I went to the challenge cup final last year. New wembley just doesn't have the same atmosphere the old one did!
Was good day out, my first proper rugby match as I'm a football fan, and it was very weird being able to drink at my seat.
Shame the people behind the bars could speak a word of the queens!

I went to Wembley for the Community Shield a few weeks ago. It was my 1st propper football match, only seen Plymouth Argyle (my team) vs Torquay Utd & vs Hearts in the recent friendlies. I was supporting Man Utd on the day with my friends. Sat behind the goal where 3 of the 4 goals were scored and the penalties.
I drove up and back the same day, 4 hours each way. Paid £15 for parking. That was on the little industrial estate next to the stadium, about 3 mins walk away. When I was there, a coach in the car park caught fire

you should of stayed a few stops on the tube away, they run every 10 mins
free parking
£5.50 return train ticket
£150 deal for 2 nights in the village including brekky and first nights evening meal
didnt mind paying £4 a pint after being in France !

yeh parking is bucks on event days just to stop everyone from driving close. which is fair enough 90k people in cars in wembley fuck that lol.
as said park further away and get tube or even a cab closer.
but main thing is if you had a good day it dont matter about the rest

wembley's busy on a non event day, so fuck going there during the actualy busy times
don't forget that there is a massive ikea site round the corner as well which normally gridlocks the roads

Wembley prices are silly... my F.A cup final tickets were £500 FACE VALUE!?!?!?!?
I've paid loads more than that for tickets on black market before but I have NEVER seen tickets for a football match that expensive for face value! I took a photo of the price on the ticket I was so shocked!
its a great stadium though.... I still think its a shambles that the roof doesn't close though!

£20 ticket, £5 program & £1 bet (A Valencia to score 1st
). The food & drinks were pricy. Took Capri Sun's into the stadium, no bottles at all allowed. Their emptied into a plastic pint glass as you get into the stadium.Andy

I found it easy to drive around the area before the game. We got there & parked by 11:30am for 3:00pm k.o (1:00pm entry to ground). We didnt want to rush & feel the atmosphere before the game.

for comparison, which way did you come in and what was the traffic like on the way out again?
and did you go around the back of the staidium or through the highstreet with about 70 speed camera on it going up and down the hill?
