I have a w plate focus estate- just recently had the cambelt done as ther are due at 90k so yours needs doing if you havn't got history.
roughly Ł150.
I don't have buttons on my steering wheel though so i can't answer that.
good cars imo- fairly nippy, and massive boot

The Ford official mileage for cambelts (and tensioner and idler pulley) is 100k miles. Most people do not leave it that long, choosing to change at 60-80k. Complete kit from a factors is Ł80-90, Ford kit IIRC misses the idler....
2 buttons on the left, 3 buttons on the right of the steering wheel air bag are for cruise control. Only available as a factory option on the Ghia.

However many people import a kit from the USA for the base model (all other models inc SVT have CC as standard !). Check for the servo/electronics bolted to the bulkhead behind the inlet manifold with a second throttle cable.

The belt/tensioner is a piece of piss to do, I do every 3 years regardless personally, last one for a T reg 2L ghia, cost Ł54 inc 5 litres of oil, air filter, oil filter, from L&R in Norwich.
Defo change well before, belts deteriorate with age as much as mileage, and many have been known to snap well before due time/mileage, reminds me of vaux when they said 80,000 as a sales gimmick, soon swapped around to previous 40,000 after lots of breakages!!
I assume army ?, bung lad/reme a few quid.
