Default 8K burning a hole in my pocket for a car?

As title really,

got a budget of £8K to spend on a car, what would you buy?

Criteria is as follows: (Priorities from top to bottom)

Fast
Fun
Not huge mileage
Can be used daily (Not too fussed about running costs though)
Reliable

Been looking into Megane 225's and Civic Type R's just to give you some idea of where I'm at at the moment.

What else could I get for 8K to put a smile on my face? (And no, not a ruck of Thai brides before the smart ass comments commence!)

Dont think so

Ask Chop how much his was, see how much Kelv's is with a few goddoes removed in the for sale section

Anyone who thinks anything other than a mint low miler in original condition is +£10k is mental in this climate

You can easy get a nice one cheaper than you think

Evo 5/6?
Impreza Type R?

Edit: I was looking at DC5 Tegs as a car for myself (that and a Focus RS), DC5s still command a decent price. More around £10-£12k some even more.

Sounds like you may have had a donkey mate. I've had 2 of them now and would definitely say out of the tin one of the most fun, reliable, easy to drive cars out there. You do need to rev it high to get them moving which makes it ideal for day to day use. I get fucked off in my truck at the moment (f150 lightning) blipping the throttle and it launching all the time at low revs!!

I've had a Pulsar before hence the username, and I definitely won't be spending 8k on another! Mine never let me down and was nippy though (300bhp).

Can you get a TME Evo for 8K? I'm at work so not got much time to check out all your suggestions, cheers all for the ideas though

I don't really want a Saph, I probably should've added 'fairly modern' to my list, I'd have a 3dr but probably a bit out of my price range as I don't really want a money pit on my hands if I can avoid it, and a ropey one would most likely need alot spending on it in a short space of time.

i also have experience a dc5 and can honestly say they are the most overrated crap ive ever seen. not a chance are they 240 hp, my 325 would eat the car ffs, the particular car was not very reliable- constant electrical/suspension trouble and a very uninvolving, boring car to drive. like a shopping corolla with a bit more power.
a shame because i love the dc2,s.

I'm not a fan of Integras either really, a good mate has a DC2, I've driven it a good few times and it is fairly quick, not quite big enough for what I'm after I play a bit of golf and carting my clubs round would be a mare in one of those.

Not that I'm a fussy twat or anything!

Hide the intercooler and that would be a nice sleeper

Some nice cars in the links.

Do you want a turbo car or an NA car?

What the oldest you would go to?
