I had standard escort cosworth wheels on my sapph for 10 miles. It didn't look bad but compared to the standard wheels it was horrible to drive and I couldn't stand the tyres catching on the front arches. It's always put me off putting 17"s on the car since

the only problem with them jimmy is that the squat at the rear gets the tyres rubbing on the arches, i thought he'd done his clutch until he told me
but the ride is spot on, even with soggy standard suspension type suspension on it
he does post on here occasionaly so i'll send him the link
it's drives spot on mate
i thought charlie's motor would be hars on coil overs but it's mint, not a rattle or squeek or creak to be heard for over 200 miles
My wheels are genuine ford 18" escort cosworth wolfs, they were tried on a sierra and they stuck out like a sore dick.
complete waste of time unless you want to put huge arches on.

Nice 1 Dojj ...hope your well
Thanks for everyones kind comments on the car.
Ok back to business...i drive the car almost daily and every time its driven its used by me to practice my launching and other useful driving skills!!!! Hence the reason dojj knows the squatting/rubbing problem and poss broken gearbox/diff problem im anticipating any minute!!!
Problems that i have come across running these alloys are all (i beleive) cureable.
Ive had to roll all the arches which is a must if u want to go low on these alloys.
I pretty much go where i want to go and i beleive the car drives much nicer/safer on these wheels than it does on 17 x7 alloys.
