hi been reading about fitting a zetec on to my xr2 head, at the moment its a standard 1.6 xr in a mk3.5 so woundering what engine mounts ill need to to fit the zetec bottom end and is there any other mods needed? thnks

 

I'm not by any means certain but think there is next to no mods to mate block head, I know some std ford mounts are used with a corner cut off of one of them, pm Roosie on here as he has done this a few times.

If its a mk3.5 it would be an xr2i not an xr2 wouldnt it which means its easier as the later models came with a zetec engine fitted so you would just have to buy a later model zetec engine mount out of say an rs1800 and away you go.
If it is an xr2 you just use the cvh mount 2 bolt holes line up to the zetec block the third hole very nearly lines up it just a case of chopping it off re-positioning it and welding it back on.
