170 in the 120 zone.thats as fast as the landcruiser does
cheers
I was in Doha straight after the first Gulf War helping get contracts back up and running on the Qapco plant up North. It was a bit of a dust bowl back then and we didnt see sunlight for months due to the oil fires in Kuwait
I understand its gone the way of Abu Dhabi now and is quite a nice place to be

Aye sounds sweet ...
What are they doing out there? Mining Bauxite?
I know what you mean by different standards when it comes to work ... Things in Canada would drag and they just waste money but it's big Money so they factor that waste into the budget

quite good actually and good fun
the kids are waiting

the cowboy himself (me!)waiting for the desert

the cars going out

stupid arab trying to plunge his landcruiser into outer space and got stuck

doing around 130 km/h here

benny hill named after a guy called benny who rolled his car here the first time
claiming "driving in the desert is quite easy, look hows its done"
quite scary hill actually since you drive up on the backside and cant see anything before you go down again

swimming in the inland sea.thats saudi-arabia in the background

thats it for this update

Whats security like???? seems to be soo different across the gulf with some places security to the max with westerners living in secure armed guarded compounds and others where you live with no real security because you dont need it.
Such a contrast!!!

You utter twat, I'm looking at getting one of them
Been over to Dubai looking at the CSV's and importing one as its faster, more power and kit and looks a lot meaner.
I've been here 2 years now and the change in that time is impressive, but it is always like living and working on a building site
Best change is the Belgian Beer Cafe in the Intercon
Least if you buy the Lumina, you have a car you can use on the trackdays at Losail. That's my reason for buying one!!

was looking for a gtr r34 type but all are ruined by conversion to lefthand steering.
if you want something cheap to run around losail, there is a SS in industrial area cheap 10K
Is that an old 2006 one, I think I know which one you mean?
Been a few up on carsemsar.com and qatarsale and qatarliving. Had a look at one a couple of weeks ago. Tidy enough, but just qatari chavved enough to put me off for the 65000 he was asking for it.
Mate is importing KR Mustangs at the moment, so that may also be an option. Don't do much dune bashing, normally just grab a quad down near Sealine and go mental for a couple of hours.
