Well, I've been a die-hard Windows Mobile user for years now, and you can't beat the functionality of the devices. But, they aren't that user friendly (although TouchFlo etc is good!).

Anyway, since OS3 has sorted a lot of the iphone's issues out (I still can't believe they are advertising copy & paste like its some kind of new technology for a phone ). The interface is a lot better than WM ever will be, and the functionality is improved and there are some apps I want to use that are iphone only.

I'm going to be buying PAYG (as I want to own the handset and put my current o2 sim in it). Thinking of a 16gb black 3GS.

I'll need a windscreen mount, a 12v charging cable etc for it too, does it come with any of these? Do they charge via USB? If so I'll use a USB cable to charge it in the car. Do they do any cables that have both USB and 3.5mm jacks for audio on?

Also, what exactly is jailbreaking? I'm an o2 user so dont need to unlock it, does it mean I can get appstore apps for free?

I intend to write a few apps actually in the future, so will jealbreaking fook my chances of that up and getting apps into the appstore?

Jailbreaking is a piece of software you simply install you get a program called cydia which has loads of links to downloads and loads of cool stuff. You can also download apps for free install a piece of software from cydia and the phone will download the apps straight off iTunes!

You get a USB cable and wall charger and ear plugs with it. Griffin sell a car charger which is pretty good, don't buy some hong kong ebay shit as it will break!

Tho the touch flow 3d on the latest HTC touch pro 2, is very fast and smooth, i love mine

Fil - my XDA is broken, common problem on the Orbit 2, the solder for the power button on the pcb is broken, and I can't be arsed to fix it just yet lol.

 

Just switched from windows mobile to 16mb 3gs I phone. A good move for me. i really like it, although I hate apple and still do because your tied to using itunes to sync with any stuff on your pc

 

Good move. I've never really got the PC thing. For all Apple's faults their OS is lightyears ahead of Windows in terms of accessibility and intuitiveness.

 

i also hate apple but recently purchased a iphone on pay as you go as they have sorted a lot of stuff out! its much better to use now than when they 1st came out!

i had the 1st model a month before they came out and sold it the day before they came out as i thought it was so basic! they have sorted a lot of stuff out since with the updates! gud little phone but is annoying syncing with itunes
