What is/are the current standards for file encryption ie 128bit, and what are future standards predicted to be like?

Any info apprecaited, i gotta do a presentation on this stuff

Do you mean like ASCII and Hexidecimal? They are current encryption key formats. I used a really good book which I am just trying to find a reference to.

I can't seem to find it at the moment. It was a couple of years old when I used it in 2001. Will keep looking though later on.
