Default Standard Cosworth / 2 litre Pinto Piston Rings Question

Are they dimensionally the same - and are they interchangable ?

Bought a new set of rings of ebay for a cosworth and a set of ae ones turned up which I am pretty sure are for a 2 litre pinto

codes are s101 R25256 Ford 3,5748"/90,800

The box even had a price of £39 + vat tipexed out

I paid £60 believing they were £99 rings

have I been conned or is this another case of us paying cosworth tax on identical parts like the INA lifters ?

Can only people with 100% knowledge please answer as I will have to front the seller if they are not suitable in a cosworth engine.

cheers

Well...
They will definately fit if that helps?

Genuine Ford Cosworth rings are a far better material and like you say the AE ones you ahve there are available from any engine machine shop or bearing supplier for about £35.

Same goes for bearings, pinto bearings will fit the crank etc... this is why some folk can undercut us on engines by quite a margin. Too many pinto parts fit

Incidentally, the INA lifters were modified for the later Cosworths to help with sustained RPM and the VW ones everyone buys cheap are NOT the same ones you will get from FORD

thanks stu for the quick reply - looks like I need to check the ebay description and fire off a note to the seller.
