Going to look at a P reg (96) Rs2000 4x4 on thursday and was wandering what i should be looking out for, the car is totally standard and has 86k with full history and is hpi clear.

first thing id be thinking of is the transfer box mate! listen for any whining or noises from the running gear!when they go they arent cheap to replace and thats if you can find a good un!

 

Check all electrics and check EVERYWHERE for rust! especially but not restricted to:

Rear wheel arches
front floor pans by the kick panels and all along the inner sill
rear floor pans
rear chassis legs
battery tray
under the rubber gasket that runs up the A pillar
top edge of windscreen
