Default my s2 escort help no spark!!!

Just putting my escort s2 back on the road which has been sitting there for sometime. The coil is generating no spark but there is power going to it and i also have tried switching the coil....

Anyone can help would be great im ripping my hair out!!!

have you got a voltage coming from the module on the dizzy to the coil?
i'd reckon this would be the problem.
try another dizzy if you can, anytype will do to just test it.

Thanks mate will try another dizzy, i do have a voltage when cranking has started. tried a spark plug off the main lead from the coil that leads to the dizzy and still no spark!!

It's either the Dizzy or the green wire that runs from the coil -VE to the ECU it signals the coil to spark, and often gets broken as it runs round the FRONT of the engine bay!

Thanks mate thought this might be the case as the green wire is already hanging out of the loom, did check it round and couldn't see any visible breaks, does this cable carry current when the ignition is on??

No mate it pulses a EARTH/NEGATIVE (-VE) signal to the coil so you cannot meassure a current from it.
Look in the wiring diagram in your haynes manual and see which pin it goes to on the ECU then run a wire direct to it or do a continuity test, see if that helps! If not then I would say Dizzy.
