does the 90 spec spoiler fit in the same holes as the 88 spec?

Only the back two... you will need to drill two new ones on the slope and riv-nut them if you want it factory...

i was gonna drill holes for a 88 spec spoiler and change it to the 90 spec once i had found a good one.
bugger.
so how comes some of yu didnt need to redrill and some did??????

 

naw its not a straight swap

 

nope i removed a 88 spec other day and refitted 90 spec


top holes need redrilling, rest of holes the same before screw in top holes coat hole with grease or similar to prevent rust, seal spoiler itself with silicone to stop leaks

 

I can 100% guarantee, only 3 of 5 hols will line up, if you wanna just fit an 88 spec temporarily, just drill 3 holes, one for the stud in the centre and one on each side of that, on the flat section

if you scan through tony turbos thread in restorations section, there are pics on there of how I modified an 88 spec tailgate

also as apples suggests, when I fitted tonys up it was waxoiled around the holes, then siliconed around the joins, I also sprayed waxoil down the holes under the screw caps

 

are these rivnuts availible from ford?
anyone have the part no as my boot is 88spec and spoiler is 90 spec and i want to do the job properly,
any idea of finis no?

you need a rivnut gun also, 30 - 60 quid ... upwards any good motor factors, comes as a kit
